The Now and Zen Story

From a tender age, I experienced the world with a unique sensitivity, perceiving energies that others often overlooked. As early as three or four, I felt a connection to something deeper, a subtle current flowing beneath the surface of everyday life. My father, a man of profound wisdom and intuition, recognized this gift within me. He didn’t dismiss it; instead, he nurtured it, teaching me to feel the subtle vibrations between my hands, to discern the vibrant hues of auras, and even to channel healing energy. These early experiences laid the foundation for a lifelong journey of understanding and working with energy.

However, life took an unexpected turn when I was just fifteen. My father’s sudden passing left a void that I instinctively tried to fill by becoming the caretaker for everyone around me. In that moment of profound loss, I inadvertently pushed my true self aside, prioritizing the needs of others above my own. For decades, this pattern persisted. Through personal losses, periods of grief, and challenging relationships, I consistently found myself playing the role of the “strong one,” always putting myself last. It was a deeply ingrained habit, born of love and a desire to support, but one that ultimately led to a quiet erosion of my own well-being.

The stillness and introspection brought by the global events of 2020 finally created space for a profound reawakening. I felt an undeniable pull to reclaim the essence of who I was, to rediscover the sensitive, intuitive spirit I had set aside so long ago. This led me to the study of Reiki in early 2021, where I earned my Reiki I and II certifications. It was a powerful step, but the true catalyst for my transformation came during a solo healing journey to Mt. Shasta in April 2021. There, guided by a compassionate mentor, I participated in a deeply moving Ho’oponopono ceremony at a sacred waterfall. In that powerful setting, surrounded by nature’s raw beauty, I finally allowed myself to release decades of suppressed emotions, grief, and the burden of always being “on” for others. It was a moment of profound revelations, a true homecoming to myself.

This transformative experience ignited a passion within me to help others find their own way back to wholeness. I dedicated myself to further study, becoming a certified Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher, a Somatic Intuitive Energy Practitioner, and a Certified Sound Healer. Eventually, I found a nurturing practice home at WeBreathe Wellness, where I established Now and Zen Holistic Health and Wellness. My work is deeply personal, inspired by my own journey and the stories of those I serve. I recall a conversation with a client who tearfully confessed she had lost all sense of herself while tirelessly caring for everyone else in her life. Her words resonated deeply, echoing my own decades-long experience of self-jneglect. This encounter inspired my event, “The Audacity to Rest,” a testament to the courage it takes to prioritize one’s own well-being.

Today, I am honored to guide individuals, particularly women and caregivers, on their paths to self-reclamation. My approach is rooted in compassion, intuition, and a deep understanding of the energetic body. I offer a safe and supportive space for you to explore, heal, and reconnect with your authentic self. It is my belief that when we dare to rest, to heal, and to honor our own needs, we unlock an incredible capacity for joy, peace, and vibrant health. I invite you to step into your won journey of rediscovery, to fin your ow “now” and “zen.”
